The Hybrid Willow is a rooted cutting. The cutting is the original branch segment. New roots are already nicely established, growing directly from the cutting. A new shoot of growth is also established, growing directly from the cutting. Plant the roots and cutting entirely, deeply into the soil, and much of the new shoot, as well. Keep a few inches of the new shoot above ground, and you'll have a very happily planted rooted cutting! Though it won't be necessary to open the soil wide, it is best to plant the rooted cutting as deeply as you can. The Hybrid Willow grows very full, and can establish an excellent screen. There will be plenty of growth at ground level as the trees mature. This is an upright willow, not a weeping willow.
