The Redosier Dogwood is also sometimes known as the Red Twig Dogwood, Western Dogwood, American Dogwood, Redstem Dogwood, Red Dogwood, Kinnikinnik, Squawbush, Creek Dogwood, California Dogwood, Red-stemmed Cornel, Redbrush, Gutter Tree and Red Willow.
With its fibrous root system, the Redosier Dogwood makes a great choice for erosion control. Can be planted 3 to 4 feet apart for a nice hedge or privacy screen. Works well in mass plantings in an open area or used as a border. This dogwood makes a dense cover desirable to wildlife and its fruit is enjoyed by many birds and animals.
