Heritage Red Raspberry - Everbearing

Rubus idaeus 'Heritage'

The Heritage Red Raspberry is an everbearing variety, producing a moderate crop in July and a heavy crop in August until frost arrives. This popular self pollinating variety has large dark red berries. The firm berries are excellent for eating out of hand, making jams & jellies and can be both frozen or canned. Canes on the Heritage are strong and do not require any staking or support. This raspberry plant will grow in a variety of soil types, but prefers fertile soil. Amending your soil with organic material is recommended for lower nutrient areas. Be sure to plant in a well drained but moist location, or provide 1-2" of water to the root zone weekly for best growing results.

TIPS: Plant more that one Heritage Red Raspberry plant for a larger crop yield. While you may see a handful of berries the first growing season, yield will be greater in the 2nd growing season, with plants typically reaching full production in 3 - 4 years. Spacing of 24" to 36"  is recommended. If planting in rows, plant 24" to 36" down each row and rows should be spaced 6' apart.
